Job Duties
Other responsibilities include performs microbiological/chemical analysis of food, environmental, raw, and sewage samples from processing facilities as well as performs testing in specialty areas of the laboratory including (but not limited to) pathogen testing, hold and release programs, special request testing, and other areas as needed. Completes all state certification requirements and performs, analyzes and reports state testing as required. Accurately documents, reviews, and disseminates information to proper personnel at the production facilities. Prepares media and testing reagents as needed. Cleans and maintains all laboratory equipment; responsible for general upkeep of laboratory. Maintains laboratory inventories of supplies, media, and reagents. Assists in training new lab technicians in general laboratory methods and tastes products for evaluation of Keeping Quality and consumer acceptance. In addition to the responsibilities listed above, other duties may be assigned by your supervisor, as dictated by business necessity.
Hours & Pay:
Daytime hours. Likely 7am to 4pm, Monday through Friday with some Saturday work as needed. This position will pay $10.12 per hour.
Education/Experience
Qualified applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in the areas of Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Food Science or experience in a microbiology related setting with Lab and Computer experience helpful.
