Therapist - Volunteers of America, Dakotas

Provide crisis intervention; individual, family and group therapy and case management services to youth and their families incorporating the principles of Social Learning Theory. Develop relationships between Volunteers of America, Dakotas and social service agencies and schools for the purpose of client referrals. Duties include, but not limited to:
• Promote and coordinate the development of support services.
• Develop and maintain a relationship with referral sources.
• Communicate both orally and in writing with appropriate staff and guardians in regards to program monitoring, client services & activities, intakes, client progress, and reviews.
• Attend meetings and trainings as appropriate.
• Conduct individual counseling sessions, facilitate group sessions, assist in pre-placement interviews & client intakes, and develop individual treatment plans.

Requirements:
A Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related Human Services field and a minimum of two years related work experience or an equivalent combination. Must be a licensed Social Worker or Professional Counselor. Excellent communication skills and expertise in case management, counseling, and effective therapeutic techniques required. Individual must possess the skills to assess and treat emotionally disturbed adolescents and have an understanding of their developmental needs. This is a fulltime position requiring day and evening hours and rotation on an on-call schedule.

Position Available in the follow program:
• Psychiatric Residential Treatment – Department of Social Services licensed 24 hour residential treatment program with capacity for 22 youth between the ages of 10 to 17 that have a qualifying mental health diagnosis.
