Location: Stone State Park, Sioux City, IA (Plymouth and Woodbury Counties)
Hourly Rate: $9.07 per hour (40 hrs./week, some weekends and holidays)
Duration: One or two positions: April 15, 2008 – Oct. 15, 2008; three or four other positions may last from mid-May through mid-August, 2008.
Job Descriptions: Stone State Park will hire -4-6 seasonal positions to assist with general maintenance of the grounds, facilities, and equipment. Examples of job duties include: mowing, trimming, trail maintenance, painting, weeding, cleaning facilities, tree and brush control, and providing assistance to park visitors. Knowledge of the safe use of tractors, chainsaws, mowers, and small hand tools is very helpful, but not required.
The park will also hire one security/maintenance position to work evenings and weekends assisting with fee collection, park security, office work, and routine maintenance. Training in law enforcement and first aid/CPR is desirable.
Requirements: Possess a valid driver’s license and be at least 18 years old. Preference will be given to those working towards a college degree in natural resource management, biology, ecology, or environmental studies.
