BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE RESEARCHER
(Snr. Market Research Associate)

Position: Business Intelligence Researcher, Kemin Industries, Inc. (Marketing)
Reports To: Business Intelligence Manager

Overall Function: Provide business, product and market information support to management requests and the company’s multiple, diverse business units located worldwide. This will be accomplished through a combination of technical abilities in understanding science and business.

Major Responsibilities:
• Conduct scientific literature searches utilizing a variety of internal and external database and search engine resources.
• Search, review and identify key excerpts of information from patent searches.
• Review large volumes of various information collected through searches and identify critical, important and relevant pieces in response to management information requests.
• Bridging technical science data and information with business interests and objectives.
• Prepare written summaries of data and literature search results to address management requests.

Qualifications & Experience:
• BA or BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology or Ag/Animal Sciences. Business or Marketing minor a plus.
• Strong math, writing and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret and develop mathematical equations and chemistry formulas.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint required.
• Comfortable and confident tackling unique information requests.
• Persistent and determined in seeking pertinent information in response to requests.
• Good multi-tasking and time management skills. Able to respond timely to requests.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Self-starter who is able to work with limited supervision.

Working Conditions: The Researcher is based at the Kemin Industries headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa. The non-exempt-level position is considered to be 40 hours per week, but requires tremendous flexibility and may require the incumbent to accomplish additional work after hours.
