Position Title: International Language Program and Intern Manager

Reports to: Executive Director

Summary Description
Coordinate programs while implementing initiatives that build cultural
respect at home and around the world one person at a time. The International
Language Program and Intern Manager will manage ICIU's translation and
interpretation services, manage ICIU's internship program, as well as be
involved in all staff responsibilities such as grant writing, fundraising,
and general office duties.

Essential Job Functions

1. Manage ICIU's Interpretation and Translation Services (I/T).
Coordinate I/T fee-for-service requests with clients and translators.
Includes coordination of training, accounting, marketing, media coverage,
and promotional aspects as necessary. Maintain an adequate language bank of
contracted interpreters/translators to meet client needs. Interview, hire
and evaluate translators and interpreters. Manage I/T related billing and
payment. Represent ICIU Interpretation and Translation Services in community
and professional associations. Also oversee 24 hour/7 day a week emergency
interpretation services. 70%

2. Recruit, train, and retain a network of International Programs
Interns to assist ICIU staff in program development and office
administration. Supervise office interns. 15 %

3. Provide written reports, as requested, including newsletter
articles, press releases and program updates. 5%

4. Manage ICIU's information technology systems. Manage relations with
information technology vendors and recommend systems updates. Troubleshoot
systems when necessary. 5%

5. Participate in ICIU weekly staff meetings and program meetings as
requested. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. 5%

Qualifications

1. BA/BS from accredited institution required. MA or other graduate degree
preferred.

2. Three to five years management or administrative experience preferred.

3. Ability to support and work well with people of diverse backgrounds, and
with civic, community, business, and multicultural organizations.

4. Ability to work independently and to plan, coordinate and carry out
strategies, specific tasks, and logistics related to ICIU programs.

5. Ability/experience in setting up and running programs for nonprofit
organizations. Grant writing experience preferred.

6. Highly organized, detail-oriented with excellent multitasking, time
management and planning skills.

7. Excellent oral, written, and computer literacy skills. Fluency in
language(s) other than English preferred.

8. Interest in learning about international issues and cultures.

Salary Range: $27,000-$29,000. A generous benefits package is provided
above salary.
