Advanced Analytical, a manufacturer of innovative scientific instrumentation for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and personal care markets based in Ames. IA is currently seeking an experienced Analytical Chemist to join our team. This full time dynamic position would focus on improving our current instruments and supporting our line of high throughput capillary electrophoresis (CE) systems and gels to customers. The position would directly report to the Laboratory Manager.
Primary responsibilities would include:
• Evaluating and adding new capabilities/components to existing CE instruments
• Supporting applications development work based on current marketing needs/trends
• Providing technical/troubleshooting support for customer using reagents and instruments
• Operating capillary electrophoresis (CE) instrumentation and quality control testing of instrument components
• Performing CE system testing and interpretation/reporting of results
• Analyzing customer samples, interpreting results and writing reports
Requirements:
• BS/BA chemistry; 0-3 years industry experience desired; MS considered
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Hands-on experience with operation and maintenance of analytical instrumentation; CE experience highly beneficial
• Strong documentation skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals
• Analytical, creative and problem solving skills
• Versatile, methodical and organized
This position is full time with benefits. Minimal travel is required and will primarily be within the United States.
