DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
1Sky www.1sky.org is a powerful new campaign to aggregate a movement at the scale of the climate challenge we are confronting by communicating a positive vision and advocating a clear, simple set of goals
and policy initiatives. 1 Sky was borne from the collective urgency and determination of a diverse group of leaders who believe that we must converge quickly and enthusiastically to form a movement capable of achieving solutions on the scale of the problem. Our diverse movement has many strengths, audiences and organizing strategies and 1Sky aggregates that power. 1 Sky is building a central staff of approximately 25 located in the D.C. area that works cooperatively with 1Sky partner organizations around the country to carry out
our mission. 

1Sky is seeking a full-time Development Director who as a key, senior team member will report to the Campaign Operations Manager and oversee the work of the Development Coordinator. S/he is responsible for meeting organizational fundraising goals, working with the Campaign Director, Campaign Operations
Manager and board of directors.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Plan, manage and evaluate short and long-term fund-raising campaigns and activities that provide for full implementation of the 1Sky campaign plan.
-Identify and cultivate prospective donors, including foundations, individuals, businesses and partner organizations.

- Work with the national funding community to make 1Sky and our partner organizations a long-term priority.
-Oversee and work collaboratively with partner organizations to develop fundraising strategies.
- Work with Internet Director to launch a creative and lucrative on-line fundraising strategy.
- In collaboration with relevant staff, produce materials for all fund-raising activities.
-Manage personnel within the development department and interact with other organization staff members.
-Recruit and train volunteer fund-raising leadership

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
START DATE: Immediately
SALARY: Salary, commensurate with experience. An excellent benefits package is offered.
