1Sky www.1sky.org is a powerful new campaign to a ggregate a movement at the scale of the climate challenge we are confronting by communicating a positive vision and advocating a clear, simple set of goals and policy initiatives. 1 Sky was borne from the collective urgency and determination of a diverse group of leaders who believe that we must converge quickly and enthusiastically to form a movement capable of achieving
solutions on the scale of the problem. Our diverse movement has many strengths, audiences and organizing strategies and 1Sky aggregates that power. 1 Sky is building a central staff of approximately 25 located in the D.C. area that works cooperatively with 1Sky partner organizations around the country to carry out
our mission.

1Sky seeks 2 Lead Organizers who will help coordinate the grassroots effort to engage and mobilize more than 1 million people to advocate the 1Sky solutions policy platform. The Organizers report to the Field & Outreach
Director and work closely with the Field & Outreach team to coordinate over 100 organizers placed with collaborating organizations nationwide.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Develop and implement a program to place over 100 field organizers in collaborating organizations nationwide.
-Work with new organizers to effectively customize 1Sky?s field and outreach strategies in their communities, including voter education campaigns, candidate ?bird-dogging?, and voter registration, ID and GOTV.
-Help to build, engage and mobilize a network of over 1 million activists to advance 1Sky?s national advocacy campaigns through local organizing efforts.
-Creatively leverage the grassroots power of supporting organizations and existing activist communities.
-Ensure the integrity of the 1Sky policy platform and message in all materials and tools used to implement decentralized grassroots strategies
-Provide training and support to organizers as needed to ensure the collective actions are meeting goals laid out in the 1Sky campaign plan.
-Track and evaluate collective actions nationwide.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
-3-5 years organizing experience in electoral, issue and/or legislative campaigns
-Bachelors degree in a related field.
-Experience engaging and motivating decentralized staff or volunteers
-Experience working collaboratively with other organizations with diplomacy
-Know the difference between creative and crazy new organizing strategies
-Can motivate anyone to do anything: in print, over the phone, or online.
-Enjoy working under pressure, under deadline, and can think quickly on
your feet
