Job description: Project Vote Smart, located at the Great Divide Ranch high in the Rocky Mountains, is a non-profit serving all Americans with accurate and unbiased information about candidates and elected officials. Committed to defending citizens from the manipulative tactics of self-serving, issueless political campaigns.
Intern are the heart of the Project's research team. For students seeking college credit, The Vote Smart Semester provides an unique blend of professional experience and college coursework.
Earn a full semester of 12 credits
   6 credit internship
   6 credits of Political Science coursework taught on-site by University of Montana
   Half the cost of most DC programs
   Live and play in the Montana Rocky Mountains
   Research candidates and inform voters
   Completely nonpartisan
   Cost $2,500 for tuition, room and board

Researching the backgrounds, voting records and campaign finances of over 40,000 political candidates, these students are creating a Voter's Self Defense System to which frustrated voters can turn for the facts instead of the rhetoric. Project Vote Smart maintains a website where voters can go to research candidates' positions, campaign finance info, special interest group ratings and much more. The interns work to promote the many services Vote Smart provides to thousands of newspapers, TV and radio affiliates, libraries and youth organization across the country. Started by President Carter and Ford along with dozens of other national leaders, Project Vote Smart needs your help. Do an internship, help save democracy and as a reward have the time of your life in one of the most beautiful retreats left on earth. A Minority Incentive Grant can fund transportation to and from Montana for qualified students.
