Steve King Congress of the United States
Steve King
Congress of the United States
House of Representatives
Washington, DC

Steve King’s office is now accepting applications for paid internship positions for the summer, fall semester and spring semester. This is a wonderful opportunity for students looking to gain valuable Capitol Hill experience and knowledge of what it is like to work in a Washington D.C. Congressional office.

Representative King currently sits on four different committees; Judiciary, Agriculture, Policy and Small Business and serves as the Ranking Member of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration. An internship is a good opportunity for college students to gain first hand knowledge of our legislative process and to work in a fast paced environment. Interns are often asked to attend briefings, hearings and press conferences and will interact with myself and my staff on a daily basis. They also work with constituents, give tours, draft correspondence and help with clerical work.

Steve King is interested in developing interns’ skills and experiences both inside and outside of the office. Interns will be involved in public relations and will learn the day to day operations of the legislative branch of the federal government. For those students interested, college credit can often be arranged through the student’s school.

Interested applicants should e-mail a resume and cover letter explaining why they would like to intern in Steve King’s office to the attention of Bentley Graves at Bentley.Graves@mail.house.gov . The deadline for submission for consideration for a summer internship is April 4, 2008. For more information, students can visit www.house.gov/steveking , or they can call my D.C. office at 202-225-4426 with any questions.
