Siouxland Habitat for Humanity is looking for 4 dedicated individuals who want to spend the summer helping our partner families realize the dream of homeownership.  Join the VISTA summer Associate program and help bring individuals and communities out of poverty.

Summer VISTA associates serving with Habitat for Humanity will do some or all of the following tasks as part of service:

*Assist the Director of Construction to prepare the sites and ensure the proper tools and materials are ready for the volunteers.

*Help to construct Habitat houses.

*Assist the Director of Volunteers by leading volunteer orientation, providing welcome and safety talks with new volunteers, and overseeing safety procedures.

*Guide and train volunteers in proper building techniques and tool use.

This is a full time, 10 week program beginning May 19, 2008 or June 2, 2008.  The living allowance stipend is approximately$1500.  In addition, you will also have the choice of an education award of $1,000 or a $200 cash stipend upon completion of your service.  See www.americorps.gov for more information.
