Kelci Teut, a 2013 graduate of Morningside College, recently was awarded the top graduate fellowship from the National Council of Alpha Lambda Delta to help cover the cost of graduate school.

Kelci Teut, a 2013 graduate of Morningside College, recently was awarded the top graduate fellowship from the National Council of Alpha Lambda Delta to help cover the cost of graduate school.

Teut will attend the University of Cincinnati in Ohio to obtain a master’s degree in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She is the daughter of Dennis and Cheri Teut of Hinton, Iowa, and a 2009 graduate of Hinton High School.

Alpha Lambda Delta is a national honor society that recognizes and encourages academic excellence among first-year college and university students. Since its inception in 1924, the national honor society has grown to find homes on over 270 campuses throughout the United States.

Fellowship recipients maintained Alpha Lambda Delta initiation standards throughout their college careers. Alpha Lambda Delta awarded one fellowship of $7,500, one of $6,000, seven of $5,000 and 14 of $3,000. Teut was awarded $7,500.

Chapter advisers for Alpha Lambda Delta are Marty Knepper, professor and chair of English, and Terri Curry, vice president for student life and enrollment.
