Five members from Morningside’s football team were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Five members from Morningside College’s football team were named 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

The Mustangs’ football Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes are:

Jon Hauswald, a junior tight end from Sioux Center, Iowa, who has a 3.95 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with a major in mathematics teaching.

Matt Jensen, a junior defensive back from Viborg, S.D., who has a 3.50 cumulative GPA with a major in business administration.

Nathan Johnson, a junior tight end from Alcester, S.D., who has a 3.81 cumulative GPA with a major in nursing.

Trevor Pavlik, a junior offensive lineman from Silver City, Iowa, who has a 3.59 cumulative GPA with majors in biology and chemistry.

Sam Shelton, a senior J-back from Sioux Falls, SD., who has a 3.53 cumulative GPA with a major in chemistry.

Student-athletes must be of at least junior academic status and have a minimum GPA of 3.50 in order to be eligible for Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.
