Five Morningside athletes were named to the academic all-district men’s and women’s at-large teams.

Five Morningside College student-athletes have been named to the 2013-14 Capital One Academic All-District 3 Men’s and Women’s At-Large Teams as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The all-district selections advance to the national ballot for selection to the 2013-14 Capital One Academic All-America At-Large Teams.

The Mustangs’ academic all-district student-athletes are:

Nick Drenth, a sophomore wrestler from Hartley, Iowa, who has a 3.59 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with majors in business administration and international affairs.

Hannah Hecht, a junior women’s swimmer from Lansing, Kan., who has a 3.97 cumulative GPA with a major in English.

Josh Karel, a junior men’s swimmer from Lincoln, Neb., who has a 3.99 cumulative GPA with a major in Spanish teaching.

Cameron Oakley, a senior women’s golfer from Sioux City who has a 4.00 cumulative GPA with majors in political science and English.

Audri Swisher, a junior women’s tennis player Spearfish, S.D., who has a 4.00 cumulative GPA with majors in biology and chemistry.

Student-athletes must be of at least sophomore academic status, be a starter or significant reserve, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher to be eligible for Capital One Academic honors.
