Rachel Held Evans, best-selling author and blogger, will present the annual Morningside College Wright Lecture at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at Grace United Methodist Church, 1735 Morningside Ave.

The title of her lecture is “Beyond the Blueprint: My Year of Biblical Womanhood.” The event is free and open to the public.

Evans’ blog receives over a quarter of a million visits every month. She has been featured in interviews on “The View,” the “Today” show, NPR, Slate, the BBC, the Washington Post, the Guardian, the Times London, the Huffington Post and Oprah.com. In October of 2012, she appeared on the cover of Christianity Today as one of “50 Women to Watch: Those Most Shaping the Church and Culture.”

Evans has authored two books: “Evolving in Monkey Town: How A Girl Who Knew All the Answers Learned to Ask the Questions,” which explores the relationship between faith and doubt, and “A Year of Biblical Womanhood: How a Liberated Woman Found Herself Sitting on Her Roof, Covering Her Head, and Calling Her Husband ‘Master,’” which documents her year following all of the Bible’s instructions for women as literally as possible.
