Morningside College will kick off its 2014 Homecoming celebration with the dedication and ribbon cutting for its $13 million “academic village” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2. Homecoming events will take place throughout the weekend for alumni, friends, students and their parents.
High school seniors will have an opportunity to learn more about college life during “Experience Morningside” senior visit days that begin Oct. 3 at Morningside College.
Deanna A. Thompson, a religion professor who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at the age of 42, will present the annual Morningside College Wright Lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Grace United Methodist Church.
Chris Spicer, an assistant professor of mathematics at Morningside College, recently presented a talk at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Seoul, South Korea.
Morningside College students, faculty and staff will do a marathon reading of best-selling novel “The Maze Runner” from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, in the Roadman Formal Lounge. This coincides with the film adaptation of the book premiering in theaters that evening.
