Swotek Is Mustangs' Top Scorer In 2009

Jamie Swotek, a freshman forward from Council Bluffs, Iowa, was the offensive leader for the Morningside College women’s soccer team during the 2009 season.
Swotek led the Mustangs in scoring with team-high totals of seven goals, five assists, and 19 points.
Karlee Hauptman, a senior forward from Omaha, Neb., was the Mustangs’ second leading scorer with four goals and one assist for nine points. She finished her career as the ninth leading goal scorer and point scorer in Morningside history with 16 career goals and 35 career points, respectively.
Abby Bull, a junior forward from Elkhorn, Neb., put her name on the Mustangs’ all-time top 10 scoring lists after she tallied one goal and one assist for three points this season. She ranks 10th in Morningside history with nine career goals and 11 career assists.
Adriane Dougherty, a senior goal keeper from Lincoln, Neb., moved up the Mustangs’ career charts. She came up with 213 saves during her career for the third highest total in Morningside history. Dougherty is second in the Mustangs’ record book with 8.8 career shutouts and third with 15 career goal keeper wins and a goals against average of 2.22 goals per game.
Morningside posted a 3-14-1 record during the 2009 season.
Nichole Levya, a senior forward from Hospers, Iowa, has been named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
Leyva has a 3.56 cumulative GPA and is majoring in Spanish and political science.
Student-athletes must be of at least junior academic status and have a minimum GPA of 3.50 in order to be eligible for Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.

Makayla Kastens and Jamie Swotek were each named to the honorable mention list of the 2009 All-Great Plains Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Team.
Kastens, a senior midfielder from Gretna, Neb., was one of only four players on the Morningside team to play in all 18 matches this season.
Swotek, a freshman forward from Council Bluffs, Iowa, was the Mustangs’ leading scorer this season with team-high totals of seven goals and five assists for 19 points.
Morningside finished the 2009 season with a record of 3-14-1.
