Bowen Named To All-GPAC Team
Cara DeStigter, a senior from Dakota Dunes, S.D., has been named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete in the sport of women’s golf.
DeStigter has a 3.96 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with majors in biology and chemistry.
She had a scoring average of 92.0 strokes per 18 holes during the fall and a 91.0 scoring average this spring for a combined average of 91.8.
DeStigter, who is also the leading hitter for the Mustangs’ NAIA National Tournament qualifying softball team, received ESPN The Magazine College Division Academic All-District VII Softball First-Team honors earlier this spring and was a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete in volleyball earlier in her career.
Student-athletes must be of at least junior academic status and have a minimum GPA of 3.50 in order to be eligible for Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.

Jenny Bowen, a junior from Aurelia, Iowa, has been named to the 2009 All-Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Women’s Golf Team.
Bowen led the Mustangs with an 86.9-stroke scoring average during the fall season and had a 91.3-stroke average this spring. She finished with a combined average of 88.6 over the fall and spring seasons to lead the Mustangs.
She finished sixth in the combined individual standings with a 349 at this year’s four GPAC Qualifier tournaments. Bowen had the Mustangs’ top individual score of the 2008-09 season with a three-over par 76 on Oct. 6 in the second round of the Nebraska Wesleyan University Fall Invitational.
