Men Finish 4th At GPAC Championships;
Danga
Earns All-Conference Honors
Morningside finished
fourth in the men's team standings at the 2004 GPAC Cross
Country Championships held Saturday, Oct. 30, at Seward, Neb.
The Mustangs finished
with 44 points, just four tallies out of third place behind
Doane College.
The Mustangs' top
performer was Jeremiah Danga, a freshman from Des Moines,
Iowa, who placed 12th with time of 26:30. Danga received All-GPAC
recognition for his effort, which went to the top 15 individual
finishers in both the men's and women's competition. He became the first Morningside
cross country athlete to receive all-conference recognition
in the sport since Bret Taber in 1993.
The other runners
who figured in the Mustangs' team score were A.J. Schultz,
27th, 27:23; Aaron Beeler, 38th, 27:54; Steve Wise, 39th,
27:52; and Chris Beeler, 40th, 27:54.
Morningside finished
in 11th place in the women's team standings. The Mustangs'
top runner was Annie McInnis, who finished 34th with a time
of 20:59.
