Krystal Carlson, a freshman from Richfield, Minn., won three events when the Mustangs’ women’s swimming team competed in a triangular meet against the University of Minnesota-Morris and Northern State University on Saturday in Morris, Minn.
Carlson swam a winning time of 18:52.13 to lead a Morningside one-two finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle and teammate Sydney Brisco, a sophomore from Scottsbluff, Neb., was the runner-up in 20:02.28.
Carlson also triumphed in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 59.65 seconds and in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:34.15.
The Mustangs’ Cora Kugler, a freshman from Watertown, Minn., won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:15.11 and was the runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle and the 400-yard individual medley with times of 27.56 and 5:18.70, respectively.
