Rager Is GPAC Golfer Of The Week
Mustangs Reign At Their Own Invitational
Mustangs Win Briar Cliff Invitational
Chris Rager, a senior from South Sioux City, Neb., has been named to the 2008 All-Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men’s Golf Team.
Rager had a scoring average of 76.5 strokes per 18 holes over the 2007 fall and 2008 spring seasons. He led the Mustangs with a 76.7-stroke scoring average in the fall and with a 76.4-stroke scoring average in the spring.
He was the individual medalist at this year’s Nebraska Wesleyan University Spring Invitational with a two-day total of 151 and was the individual runner-up at the 2008 GPAC Championships with a two-day total of 145 to finish just one stroke off the medalist pace.

Chris Rager, a senior from South Sioux City, Neb., has been named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men’s Golfer of the Week.
Rager was the individual medalist at last week’s Nebraska Wesleyan University Spring Invitational, where he carded a two-day total of 151 with rounds of 73 and 78 to lead the Mustangs to a second place finish in the team standings of a nine-team field.
Rager won medalist honors by a one-stroke margin over runner-up Luke Vermeer of Northwestern College.

Morningside captured the team championship at its own Mustang Invitational held Tuesday at Whispering Creek Golf Club.
The Mustangs carded a team score of 303 for a four-stroke cushion over runner-up Wayne State College.
The Mustangs’ Brandon Morehead, a junior from Sioux City, was the individual medalist with a one-under par 71. Morehead shot a 38 on the front nine and finished with a three-under par 33 on the back nine. He had six birdies on the day, including a streak of four consecutive birdies on holes 13 through 16.
All four Morningside counters posted scores in the 70s. Chris Rager, a senior from South Sioux City, Neb., had a 76, followed by Andrew Martin, a junior from Atlantic, Iowa, with a 77, and Ryan Benes, a freshman from Grimes, Iowa, with a 79.
The Mustangs won their second tournament in as many days. Morningside was the team champion at Monday’s Briar Cliff Invitational at Green Valley Golf Course. Martin was the individual medalist at that tournament with a two-under par 70.

Martin carded a two-under par 70, including a three-under 33 on the front nine, to take individual honors.
All five Mustang players posted scores in the 70s as the Mustangs finished with a 299 for a four-stroke cushion over runner-up Wayne State College.
Austin Vanderhoff had the Mustangs' second best score with a 75, followed by Chris Rager with a 76 and Brandon Morehead and Ryan Benes with 78s.
Morningside will host the Mustang Invitational on Tuesday at Whispering Creek Golf Club.
