Career totals also included 136 solo tackles, 211 assists, 347 total tackles, 38 pass breakups, 18.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage for losses of 61 yards, 2.5 quarterback sacks, eight fumble recoveries, and six forced fumbles. Also a starting outfielder on Mustangs'
baseball team. Mustangs' leading hitter with a .472 batting
average during 2003 campaign. . .2005 Data- Received first-team All-GPAC and honorable mention NAIA asll-America honors. Intercepted five passes for 105 yards and ranked fifth on Mustangs' tackle chart with 30 solos and 39 assists for 69 total tackles. Led Mustangs with two fumble recoveries. Ranked among team's leaders with six pass breakups and 1.5 quarterback sacks. Had season's high 11 tackles in Mustangs' 49-7 win against Doane College on Sept. 24 and 35-13 triumph against Hastings College on Oct. 29. Also had 1.5 quarterback sacks in the Hastings game. Longest interception return of season went for 52 yards in 49-27 win against Dana College on Nov. 12. . . 2004 Data- Received
second-team NAIA All-America honors. Mustangs' Defensive MVP
and first-team All-GPAC selection topped team with five interceptions
and ranked second on tackle chart with 40 solos and 59 assists
for 99 total tackles. Also led team with three fumble recoveries
and three forced fumbles. Had eight tackles behind the line
of scrimmage for losses of 29 yards, incuding one quarterback
sack. Had a 32-yard interception touchdown return against
Nebraska Wesleyan and a 45-yard fumble touchdown return against
Dakoat Wesleyan. Led Mustangs with 16 tackles in NAIA National
Playoff game against Saint Francis. . .2003 Data- Earned
NAIA honorable mention All-America and first-team All-GPAC
honors. Named Mustangs' Most Valuable Defensive Back. Led
Mustangs' defense with 48 solo tackles, 68 assisted tackles,
and 116 total tackles. Also led team with two fumble recoveries
and Mustangs' co-leader with three interceptions. Statistics
also included four pass breakups, one forced fumble, and 3.5
tackles behind the line of scrimmage for losses of 13 yards.
. .2002 Data- Enjoyed standout freshman season with
team-high seven interceptions for 50 yards. Averaged 7.1 yards
per interception return with one touchdown. Ranked fifth on
Mustangs' tackle chart with 18 solos and 45 assists for 63
total tackles. Statistics also included team-high three fumble
recoveries, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one blocked
kick, and 1.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage for losses
of nine yards. Averaged 7.3 yards on 12 punt returns. . .High

Named the Sioux City Journal's 2001 Male Metro Athlete of
the Year after starring for Heelan's football, wrestling,
baseball, and track & field teams. Led Crusaders' football
team with 59 tackles and four interceptions as senior. Also
caught nine passes for 266 yards for average of 29.6 yards
per catch and averaged 13.4 yards on punt returns. Received
first-team Class 4A all-state honors from Iowa Newspaper Association
and second-team all-state laurels from Des Moines Register
as defensive back. Posted 146-29 career record during wrestling
career and graduated as Heelan's only four-time state qualifier.
Went 36-5 as a senior en route to third place finish in the
Class 3A 152 lb. division of the state meet. Batted .352 during
prep baseball career and set Heelan record with 172 career
hits. Earned all-state honors as senior when he led Iowa's
Class 3A state champions with a .435 batting average, eight
doubles, six triples, eight home runs, and 46 RBIs.
