Joined Mustangs for 2005 season as transfer from Kirkwood Community College. Hit .256 with two doubles, seven RBIs, 15 runs scored, and four stolen bases in 32 varsity contests, including 13 starts. Also a defensive back for Mustangs' football team. Played outside linebacker during 2004 season and was Mustangs' fourth leading tackler as a freshman with 31 solo stops and 32 assists for 63 total tackles. . .High School Data- 2003 graduate of Galva-Holstein High School. Earned second-team Class 1A All-Northwest Iowa District honors from the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association as a senior. Earned second-team Class 1A Iowa Newspaper Association all-state honors in football as a running back following senior season where he rushed for 1,106 yards and 14 touchdowns and averaged 9.2 yards per carry. Also caught nine passes for 193 yards and three touchdowns for average of 21.4 yards per catch. Defensive statistics included 45 tackles and three interceptions. Earned third-team Sioux City Journal All-Northwest Iowa and second-team Omaha World-Herald Class 2A/1A All-Western Iowa laurels as senior.
