Nathan Rosado, a senior shortstop from San Anton, Puerto Rico, slugged six triples to set a new Morningside College single-season record during the 2006 campaign.

Rosado’s six triples broke the former Morningside single-season standard of five triples by Chad Kerr in 2005 and by Lincoln Wacker in 1994. Aside from leading the Mustangs in triples, Rosado was the Mustangs’ co-leader with 29 RBIs and ranked among the team’s leaders with a .303 batting average, eight doubles, two home runs, 26 runs scored, and nine stolen bases.

Dalton Meyers, a senior first baseman-outfielder from Uniontown, Ark., was the Mustangs’ other co-leader with 29 RBIs as well as the team’s home run co-leader with four circuit clouts. Meyers slugged a team-high 10 doubles and was the Mustangs’ second leading hitter with a .344 batting average. Meyers, who led the Mustangs in doubles and RBIs for the second year in a row, hit .323 with 35 doubles, 18 home runs, and 120 RBIs over his three-year Morningside career.

The Mustangs’ leading hitter was Tom Kohl, a sophomore center fielder from Leavenworth, Kan., who collected a team-high 57 hits in 147 at-bats for a .388 batting average. Kohl also topped the Mustangs with 35 runs scored, 16 stolen bases, 15 base on balls, a .537 slugging percentage, and a .489 on-base percentage. Kohl was also hit by a pitch a team-high 15 times and was the Mustangs’ toughest player to strike out with only eight strikeouts in 147 at-bats.

Manny Navarro, a sophomore catcher from Carolina, Puerto Rico, was the Mustangs’ home run co-leader with four round trippers to share the team lead with Meyers.
