Q: Where are wireless access points located on campus?

Q: My network connection works fine in the dorm lounge, but it doesn’t work in my room. Why Not?
A: It’s connecting via the wireless network in the lounge. Wireless access is not available in most dorm rooms. Buy an Ethernet cable in the campus bookstore and connect it to your computer and then connect to the Ethernet jack in your room.
Q: Going Wireless?
A: Because of the new network design, it is beneficial not to have both wired and wireless network adapters enabled on your computer at the same time. If you are plugged into a network cable, please disable your wireless network card.
To disable, right-click on the wireless network icon ( ) near the clock in your taskbar. Choose "disable" from the pop-up menu. This will turn off your wireless adapter.
To re-enable the wireless when you want to use it, Choose 'Wireless Network Connection' from the "Connect To" item in your Start Menu (near control panel).
Q: How can I find someone’s e-mail address or phone number?
A: Log on to: http://campusweb.morningside.edu and use the online directory.
Q: How many passwords do I have and where can I find them?
A: You have two sets of username/passwords:
- The Campus network log-on and SquirrelMail (same username/password for both)
- CampusWeb and Blackboard (Miller Hall) (same username/password for both)
Your log-on names and passwords are on the paper you received with your computer.
If you have lost this paper, call the helpline at: (712) 274-5544 to get a new password.
Q: How do I send email?
A: Click on the link for “SquirrelMail” and use your log on & password to access your email from anywhere in the world that you can log on and access the Morningside home page at http://www.morningside.edu
