Two-Year Technology Refresh Program

Facts:

  • Entering full-time first-year students will receive a new notebook computer for use during their first-year and sophomore years. The planned technology refresh takes place prior to the start of the junior year.
  • After completing eight consecutive, full-time fall or spring semesters of credit in the program the student will leave with and own their two-year old notebook computer.
  • Students may take their notebook computers home over breaks.
  • On campus hardware repair and software maintenance support available with loaner computers for extended repairs.
  • Three-year extended warranty and three-year ADP (Accidental Damage Protection) will cover the Windows-based PC computers. ADP for Apple computers is a separate yearly, non-refundable fee; not optional.
  • The student is responsible for insuring the computer against theft or loss.

  • Use of leading edge technology in both Windows-based PC's and Apple platform PC's.

  • Planned refresh cycles will keep no more than a two-year old computer in student hands protecting against obsolescence.

  • All students will have the necessary hardware and software available to complete their coursework with equal access to newer technology.

  • Eliminates inherent problems associated with older notebook computers.
