Sept. 20, 2013
Morningside College will present the documentary “A Place at the Table” about hunger in the United States at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, in the Yockey Family Community Room of the Olsen Student Center, 3609 Peters Ave.
Fifty million Americans – one in four children – don’t know where their next meal is coming from. “A Place at the Table” tells the stories of three such Americans and looks at how they maintain their dignity even as they struggle just to eat.
The public is invited to attend this free event and participate in the reflective conversation that will follow. Joining in the discussion will be Linda Scheid, director of the Food Bank of Siouxland, and the Rev. Patricia Johnson, director of The Micah Project, a coalition that works to address issues of poverty in Siouxland.
The documentary screening is sponsored by Morningside College Campus Ministries.
