The Morningside College chapter of Psi Chi, an international honor society in psychology, recently received a national Model Chapter Award for the 2011-2012 academic year from the Psi Chi National Council in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Model Chapter Awards are presented annually to recognize and reward Psi Chi chapters that consistently maintain outstanding records of membership inductions, chapter correspondence, service projects and other criteria associated with being an outstanding chapter. The award comes with a $100 check.
Dr. Larry Sensenig, professor and chair of psychology, serves as the Morningside Psi Chi chapter’s faculty adviser.
The Morningside Psi Chi student officers for the 2011-2012 year were Megan Peters of Fonda, Iowa, president; Sadie Mortenson of Terril, Iowa, vice president; Danielle Dahlkoetter of Grant, Neb., secretary; Garth Hamilton of Lincoln, Neb., social chair; and Lauren Scherff of Fort Dodge, Iowa, historian.
