"Some Failure is to be Expected II" by John Bowitz |
 “Trying to Draw a Conclusion,” an exhibit of mixed media drawings by John Bowitz, is on display through Sept. 20 in the Eppley Art Gallery, 3625 Garretson Ave., with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9. The exhibit and reception are open to the public.
Bowitz is a professor and chair of the art department at Morningside College.
Most of the drawings in the exhibit are done in colored inks and pencils, with collage. Content revolves around manipulations, transformations and transgenic technology. Bowitz said he is concerned about recent art created by placing human DNA in petunia plants.
Eppley Art Gallery hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
