Nathan Runkle, executive director of Mercy For Animals, will give a lecture at Morningside College on “Making Humane Food Choices” on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 11:45 a.m. in the UPS Auditorium in Lincoln Center, 3627 Peters Ave.
The public is invited to the free event, which is sponsored by Morningside’s Academic and Cultural Arts Series (ACAS). The event is intended to educate the community about the college food service’s switch this fall to cage-free eggs and more generally about the humane treatment of animals raised for consumption.
Runkle said his presentation will focus on how food choices can prevent cruelty to animals.
Mercy For Animals is a nonprofit animal advocacy organization that works to create a society where animals are treated with respect and compassion. More information is available online at www.mercyforanimals.org.
