Two Morningside students studying abroad

during fall semester

Morningside College students Rachel Bellairs, a junior from Clarinda, Iowa, who is majoring in English; and Luke Sorensen, a senior from Essex, Iowa, who is majoring in religious studies; are studying abroad during the 2006 fall semester.

Both students are studying at Kansai Gaidai University in Osaka, Japan. They are scheduled to continue their studies at Kansai Gaidai during the 2007 spring semester.

Several opportunities for foreign study are available to Morningside students. Most programs provide opportunities for extensive travel in addition to regular classroom studies. Students who wish to apply for study abroad must meet a minimum grade point average, be of sophomore standing, and meet with members of Morningside’s Curriculum Policies Committee to discuss their application and plans for study abroad. The committee then submits a list of candidates to the academic dean who makes the final selection for

study abroad.
