Twenty-four Morningside College nursing students will receive pins at the 2006 Professional Beginnings Ceremony to be held Sunday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 1735 Morningside Aveune.
The students include:
Sioux City - Rebecca Harrell, Trisha Janssen, Christina Loft, Whitney McElrath, Erin Popken, Ashlee Walker.
Iowa: DeRae Bettin and Sara Schrank, Mapleton; Nicole Nelgeson, Altoona; Kelli Irwin, Marcus; Stephanie Loeschen, Ocheyedan; Lorie Ludwig, Hinton; Meggan McDonald, Salix; Heidi Meyer, Alta; Emily Olsen, Marne; Kari Streff, Alton; Veronica Vazquez, Denison.
Nebraska: Amanda Cades, Lincoln; Emily Grabow, Ft. Calhoun; Kerstin Levi, Omaha; Danielle Petersen, Lyons; Whitney Turner, Trumbull.
South Dakota: Katherine Kromminga, Dakota Dunes; April Tobin, Dell Rapids.
The pinning ceremony signifies a milestone in the student's educational process. Each of the recipients is a third year nursing student at Morningside. They will receive a pin commemorating the work of Florence Nightingale.
The ceremony will include a welcome by Dr. William Deeds, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college, along with an address from nursing faculty members including Jacklyn Barber, Lynne Carroll, Patricia Graham, and Dr. Mary Kovarna, chair of the nursing department.
