President John Reynders elected

to NAIA’s Council of Presidents

John Reynders, President of Morningside College, has been elected to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ (NAIA) Council of Presidents as the representative for the 13 institutions that comprise the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).


Reynders will also serve as a member of the Council of Presidents' Regional Management Committeee. He will begin his duties on Jan. 1, 2007, and his term will extend through Dec. 31, 2009.


The Council of Presidents is the central governing body for the NAIA and is responsible for all fiscal matters of the association, employment of the NAIA CEO/President, membership, and strategic direction and operational policies put into action by the association’s various governing councils and committees.


Reynders also serves on the executive committee of the Iowa Association of Independent Colleges & Universities, the executive committee of the Iowa College Foundation, and the Council of Independent Colleges Board of Directors.


Reynders holds a master of arts in education and a bachelor of science in mathematics degree from Allegheny.
