More than 150 male singers from high schools in Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska will converge on the Morningside College campus for the eighth annual all-day Men in Song choral festival, slated for Thursday, Nov. 2, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Avenue. The festival will conclude with a concert by the high school singers and Morningside's Eclectix vocal jazz ensemble at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend the festival and concert free of charge.
Tim Watson, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities at Morningside, will conduct the festival and concert.
The high school singers who will participate in the Men in Song festival are from the Battle Creek-Ida Grove, Charter Oak-Ute, Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln, Lawton-Bronson, Red Oak, Rock Valley Netherlands Reformed Christian, Sergeant Bluff-Luton, Sioux Central Community, Siouxland Community Christian, West Lyon, and Woodbury Central school districts in Iowa; Glencoe-Silver Lake in Minnesota; and Bancroft-Rosalie, Lincoln Lutheran, and Lyons-Decatur Northeast Schools in Neb.
