Dr. Brenda Crawford, personal counselor at Morningside College, will present “Relationships: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. in Roadman Formal Lounge, 3600 Peters Avenue.
The free event is sponsored by Morningside’s Academic and Cultural Arts Series (ACAS) and is open to the public.
Crawford will discuss techniques for promoting effective communication in interpersonal relationships and offer suggestions for navigating through difficult communication situations and conflicts. She will also present information on how to identify and avoid abusive relationships. A question and answer period will follow the discussion.
Crawford received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology and a doctorate in counseling psychology from Iowa State University in Ames. She has clinical experience in individual and group behavioral health services including substance abuse, depression, domestic violence, eating disorders, and grief counseling, among others. She is a member of the American Psychological Association.
