Casey Muessigmann of “The Voice” to perform at Morningside College

Casey MuessigmannCasey Muessigmann, former Morningside College student and contestant this fall on “The Voice,” and Wyatt Turner, former contestant on “American Idol,” will perform at Morningside College at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave.

A limited number of tickets will be made available to the general public. They cost $3 and may be purchased at Eppley Auditorium from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 15 and 16. The evening of the concert, doors will open first to students and then to the general public at 7:50 p.m.

Country star Blake Shelton selected Muessigmann to be on his team for “The Voice” on NBC. He remained a contestant until he was eliminated from the show on Monday, Oct. 8. Muessigmann is a 2008 graduate of Spencer High School in Spencer, Iowa, who attended Morningside College. He most recently attended Morningside in the spring of 2012, and he was a member of the wrestling team.

Wyatt Turner appeared in the January 2011 season of American Idol on FOX, where he made it through to the second round of the competition.
