Twenty-one units representing the Abu Bekr Shrine in Sioux City will parade down Morningside Avenue on Saturday, October 23, prior to Morningside College’s annual Shrine Football Game.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Morningside Avenue and South Lakeport Street. The parade route will follow Morningside Avenue toward Morningside College. At the intersection of Morningside Avenue and Peters Avenue, the parade will turn west and follow Peters Avenue to the parking lot of Elwood Olsen Stadium at the intersection of Peters Avenue and South Paxton Street.
Roger Schultz of Sioux City, a 1967 Morningside College graduate and past potentate (1997) of Abu Bekr Shrine, will serve as parade marshal.
The annual Shrine Football Game, which will feature Morningside College and Concordia University, Seward, Neb., begins at 1 p.m. in Elwood Olsen Stadium.
