Morningside College Board of Directors elects officers and new members

Dr. Craig Wansink, chairman of the religious studies department and associate dean of Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, Va., was elected chair of the Morningside College Board of Directors during its annual meeting on Saturday, October 9. Wansink is a 1984 Morningside graduate.

Michael Bennett, president of Albaton Enterprises, LLC in Sioux City, was elected vice chair of the Morningside board. Arlene Curry, a commercial real estate broker with NAI LeGrand & Company in Sioux City, was re-elected board secretary.

Board members elected to new terms include Larry Arnold of Wayzata, Minn., retired managing partner for Wessels, Arnold & Henderson, LLC and a 1965 Morningside graduate; Dr. Stephen Davis of Hideaway, Texas, emeritus professor of psychology at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kan.; John Gleeson, president of Klinger Companies, Inc. in Sioux City; Dr. Esther Mackintosh of Washington, D.C., president of the Federation of State Humanities Councils and a 1969 Morningside graduate; Heather Nielsen of Ida Grove, Iowa, Morningside student body president; Douglas Palmer, president of Tegra Corporation in Sioux City; and Clifford Tufty, president of Motor Parts Central in Sioux City and a 1970 graduate of Morningside.

Members named to chair board committees include Cynthia Moser, an attorney with the Heidman Law Firm in Sioux City, academic affairs committee; Thomas Grimsley, CFO of CW Suter in Sioux City and a 1981 Morningside graduate, finance/investment committee; Ronald Yockey, project engineer at Beef Products Incorporated in Dakota Dunes, S.D., and a 1970 Morningside graduate, institutional advancement committee; and Richard Waller, president and CEO of Security National Bank in Sioux City, student life committee.
