The Morningside College Board of Directors elected five members to new terms during its annual meeting on October 3.
Board members elected to new terms include Dr. J. Robert Burkhart, assistant to the bishop of the Iowa Conference of the United Methodist Church in Des Moines, Iowa, and a 1970 Morningside graduate; the Rev. Tony R. Nester, senior pastor of Grace United Methodist Church in Sioux City; Craig I. Struve, president of C-S Agrow Services Company in Calumet, Iowa, and a 1970 Morningside graduate; Richard A. Waller, president and CEO of Security National Bank in Sioux City; and A.J. Pruss of Norfolk, Neb., Morningside student body president.
Russell G. Olson, president of Liberty Banshares, Inc. in West Des Moines, Iowa, and a 1976 graduate of Morningside College, was re-elected chair of the board. Other board officers re-elected include Dr. Craig Wansink, chairman of the religious studies department and associate dean of Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, Va., and a 1984 Morningside graduate, vice chair; Arlene T. Curry, a commercial real estate broker with NAI LeGrand & Company in Sioux City, secretary; Ronald A. Jorgensen, Morningside vice president for business and finance, treasurer; and John Reynders, Morningside president. Dr. Angela F. Banks, principal of Lincoln and Clark elementary schools in Sioux City, was elected assistant secretary.
Members named to chair board committees include Cynthia C. Moser, an attorney with the Heidman Law Firm in Sioux City, academic affairs committee; Thomas P. Grimsley, CFO of CW Suter in Sioux City and a 1981 Morningside graduate, finance/investment committee; Michael L. Bennett, president and CEO of Terra Industries, Inc., institutional advancement committee; and Richard Waller, student life committee.
