Morningside Trio to perform

The Morningside Trio will be performing at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, at Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave.  This is a free event open to the public.

The members of the Morningside Trio are Dan Auerbach, violinist and string instructor at Morningside; Joe Shufro, cellist and associate professor of music; and James March, pianist and professor of music.

“The purpose of the trio is to give our students a role model for performing music and to present to the community high quality music,” said Shufro.

The trio is planning on playing numerous compositions.  They will play “Trio in E Major” by Mozart, “Three for the Road” by Libby Larsen, and “Trio #2 in C Major” by Brahms.

The Morningside Trio has been in existence on and off for many years. The current combination of players have been together since last year.  They usually perform two concerts on campus per year.  Last year they played for the Sioux City Chamber Music Series and made a tour of Iowa High Schools with strong orchestral programs.
