Morningside College seniors Whitney Gries of Onawa, Iowa, and Alex Weborg of Pender, Neb., were crowned 2009 homecoming queen and king during coronation ceremonies held Thursday, October 1, on campus.
Candidates for queen were Megan Davidson of Dakota City, Neb.; Erin Keitges of Jackson, Neb.; Chelsea Swanson of Marne, Iowa; and Whitney Van Roekel of Estherville, Iowa.
Candidates for king were Josh Benson of Lawton, Iowa; Nick McGraw of Sioux City; Josh Miller of Sioux City; and Travis Ward of Omaha, Neb.
Court attendants were juniors Laci Swanson of Marne, Iowa, and Cody Galvin of Early, Iowa; sophomores Bailey Bichel of Glenwood, Iowa, and Monte Larsen of Neola, Iowa; and freshmen Mary Froeschl of Falls City, Neb., and Ian Miner of Wakefield, Neb.
Faculty representatives were Susie Lubbers, assistant professor of education and director of the Morningside Center for Ethics and Leadership, and Dr. Bruce Forbes, professor of religious studies.
