Morningside College students select homecoming king and queen

Jonalee Jackes and Blake AndersonMorningside College seniors Jonalee Jackes of Le Mars, Iowa, and Blake Anderson of Randolph, Neb., were crowned 2008 homecoming queen and king during coronation ceremonies held Thursday, October 9, on campus.

Candidates for queen were seniors Lindsay Neste of Bremerton, Wash.; Tarah Sagedahl of East Bethel, Minn.; Amy Salton of Webb, Iowa;  Kayla Weerheim of Hawarden, Iowa, and Vanessa Warzecha of Aloha, Oregon.

Candidates for king were seniors Brady Helmink of Fairbury, Neb.; Derek Nolan of Hawarden, Iowa; Alex Watters of Milford, Iowa; Ryan Lickteig of Atlantic, Iowa, and Russell Heine of York, Neb.

Court attendants were juniors Whitney Gries of Onawa, Iowa, and Josh Rensink of Sioux Center, Iowa; sophomores Laci Swanson of Marne, Iowa, and Cody Galvin of Early, Iowa; and freshmen Nicole Van Heek of Crofton, Neb., and Monte Larsen of Neola, Iowa.

Faculty representatives were Kitty Green, instructor of history, and Bruce Forbes, professor of religious studies.
