Twenty-seven Morningside College nursing students will receive pins at the 2007 Professional Beginnings Ceremony to be held Sunday, October 7, at 2 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 1735 Morningside Avenue.
The students who will be honored are:
From Sioux City - Mindee Borrall, Nichole Goergen, Bryan Hansen, Emily Lane, Trang Nguyen, and Michael O’Sullivan.
From Iowa – Nicole Branstetter, Avoca; Kaitlin Buscher, Corning; Sarah Garrett, Churdan; Rachel Held, Atlantic; Dana Hieber, Castana; Emily Heuertz, Le Mars; Cassie Main, Lanesboro; Katie McGuire, Des Moines; Kelsey Ploen, Pierson; Brooke Pottorff, Corning; Amy Salton, Webb; Stephanie Schmidt, Cherokee; Brittany Thompson, Exira; Hillary Utman, Modale; Kayla Weerheim, Hawarden; and Ashley Zevenbergen, Lake Park.
From other states – Stephanie Kirchner, Savage, Minn.; Erin Koskovich, South Sioux City, Neb.; Janina Lowry-Luther, Maple Grove, Minn.; and Kristi Tighe, Homer, Neb.
From other countries – Yuichi Ichinose, Japan.
The ceremony signifies a milestone in the students’ educational process. All of the students are third-year nursing students. They will receive a pin commemorating the work of Florence Nightingale.
The ceremony will include a welcome by Dr. William Deeds, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college, along with an address from nursing department faculty members Jackie Barber, Lori Doeschot, Sharlene Georgesen, Pat Graham, and Mary Kovarna.
