The Morningside College Music Department will present a fall concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave. The concert is free and open to the public.
A variety of genres will be featured at the concert – from vocal jazz to classical to gospel music. Ensembles to perform include the Eclectix Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Singing Men, Bel Canto women’s chorus, and the Morningside College Choir.
The Eclectix Vocal Jazz Ensemble performs an eclectic mix of jazz, show, and pop tunes. They sing both a cappella and with a rhythm section.
Singing Men and Bel Canto are unique ensembles that perform music written specifically for men’s and women’s choirs.
The Morningside College Choir has been in existence for more than 100 years. This select ensemble is composed of 50 vocalists on campus, nearly half of whom come from majors other than music. The choir will be touring China in May 2008.
