Homecoming royalty announced

Morningside College seniors Maureen "Mo" Vandenbroucke of Omaha, Neb., and Brian Schekirke of Bellevue, Neb., were crowned 2007 Homecoming Queen and King during coronation ceremonies held at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4, on campus.

Candidates for queen were seniors Tanya Anderson of Piedmont, S.D.; Nicole Cleveland of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; Erin Freml of Harlan, Iowa; Emily Grabow of Fort Calhoun, Neb.; Whitney Turner of Trumbull, Neb.; and Vandenbroucke.

Candidates for king were seniors Nolan Abel of Royal, Iowa; Joe Disalvo of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Matt Johnson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Schekirke; Tyler Woods of Davenport, Iowa; and J.T. Yates of Glenwood, Iowa.

Court attendants were juniors Jonalee Jackes of Le Mars, Iowa, and Derek Nolan of Hawarden, Iowa; sophomores Bailey Johnson of Milford, Iowa, and Wade Planting of Estherville, Iowa; and freshmen Jordan Walsh of Odebolt, Iowa, and Cody Galvin of Early, Iowa.

Faculty representatives were Kitty Green, instructor of history and political science, and Clifford Towner, assistant professor of music.
