Morningside College invites Harry Potter fans of all ages to share what they have written or read in response to the seventh book on Friday, Oct. 26, from 9 to 10:30 p.m. in Roadman Formal Lounge, 3600 Peters Ave.
The free event is part of Morningside’s Friday is Writing Day series and is open to the public.
“We’re going to have treats and decorations up in the spirit of Halloween,” said Dr. Marty Knepper, professor and chair of English at Morningside. “Some people may want to wear costumes, and that’s fine.”
The written responses to “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” do not need to be polished essays. Knepper said they can be as informal as a printed e-mail.
“So many people bought that book this summer, and some of them have probably been talking with their friends about it and posting blogs,” she said. “It would be fun to hear their reactions.”
Those who do not have any writings to share are welcome to come listen and participate in discussion.
