Morningside College announces new staff members

Morningside College recently announced five new staff members.

The new staff members are Keith Burke, general maintenance; Barb Chambers, graduate professional development and field coordinator; Kristal Grigsby, switchboard operator; Joseph Lasley, area coordinator/student engagement coordinator; and Corey Young, area coordinator/coordinator of student activities.

Burke came to Morningside after previously working in positions as a roofer and a pipe fitter and welder. In his new position, he is responsible for general maintenance and repair for Morningside College buildings.

Chambers came to Morningside from Northwest Area Education Agency, where she served as a professional development coordinator. In her new position, she manages graduate programming off campus in assigned areas and works with off-campus partners to provide ongoing professional development opportunities for teachers. Chambers has a master’s degree from Morningside College.

Grigsby previously worked at Wilson Trailer Company in Sioux City, where she was a switchboard operator and accounts payable clerk. In her new position at Morningside, she is responsible for operating the Morningside College switchboard and providing assistance in the business office. Grigsby has an associate’s degree from Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City.

Lasley previously worked as a graduate assistant hall director at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minn. In his new position at Morningside, he coordinates the day-to-day essential functions of assigned residence halls; coordinates the campus Leadership Academy, wellness halls and campus wellness programs; and collaborates with campus offices on the Sophomore Experience program. Lasley has a master’s degree from St. Cloud State University.

Young came to Morningside after graduating with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dubuque in Iowa. In his position at Morningside, he coordinates day-to-day functions of assigned residence halls and assists in the development of student activities and programs through the Morningside Activities Council, multicultural programs and homecoming.
