The Morningside College Jazz Band will have a concert on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m. at Morningside College in Buck’s snack bar in the lower level of the Olsen Student Center, 3609 Peters Ave. This event is free and open to the public.
“We will play in Buck's because we want to replicate an environment of real world jazz performances, as opposed to sitting in an auditorium,” said Tamey Anglley assistant professor of music and director of bands at Morningside College.
The Morningside Jazz Band will be performing Christmas jazz arrangements in addition to traditional jazz music. Katie Rasmussen of Jefferson, Iowa, and Nolley Vereen of Sioux City, Iowa, will perform vocals for this event.
The jazz band is an academic ensemble that performs music composed in all jazz styles.
Buck’s will be open for food and drinks during this relaxed concert.
