President and founder of Project Rehema Ministries to give presentation

Kelli Solsma, president and founder of Project Rehema Ministries, will talk about her mission experiences over the last 12 years in Tanzania, East Africa, during a presentation at Morningside College at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, in UPS Auditorium in Lincoln Center, 3627 Peters Ave.

The public is invited to the free event, which is sponsored by Morningside’s Academic and Cultural Arts Series (ACAS).

Project Rehema Ministries is a nonprofit organization that ministers to some of the 2.5 million orphans in Tanzania. Project Rehema was named after Rehema Ntandu, who was only 8 years old when she died of AIDS after being removed from an orphanage once the orphanage learned of her AIDS status. Project Rehema does not discriminate against children with HIV and currently has seven homes in Tanzania which care for orphaned and other vulnerable children.

Solsma has been to Tanzania nine times and will be going back for her 10th trip in June of 2009. She is an administrative assistant for Holy Cross Grade School – St. Michael Center in Sioux City.
