Dr. Marty Knepper, professor and chair of English at Morningside College, was awarded one of five Executive Director’s Advisor of the Year awards at the national Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) Leadership Workshop held October 27-29, in Boston, Mass.
Knepper was also selected to serve on the national board of ALD beginning in the spring of 2007. In addition, she served as co-facilitator for the conference session “How To Be a Successful Chapter” specifically targeted to small colleges and universities. The Morningside chapter of ALD also received a silver award for increased membership.
Founded in 1924 at the University of Illinois, ALD is a national honor society that recognizes and encourages academic excellence among first year college and university students.
Knepper has been a member of Morningside’s faculty since 1984 and has been faculty advisor for the college’s chapter of ALD for more than 10 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Morningside College, a master’s degree in English from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, and a doctorate in English from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
